The Client: When Movies Were Good Podcast

The Challenge: When Movies Were Good is a podcast specialising in classic movies that I myself co-host. When the noted actress Angela Lansbury passed away, I prepared a social media tribute for each of the podcast's social media channels. These posts needed to respect the serious subject matter. It was also necessary that they conform to the required writing conventions for each social media platform.

Solution: As with all social media campaigns, it is best to have varying content for each platform. If your business has followers on more than one platform they will be aware of identical posts cut and pasted to each channel. Character count is important for composing different posts. Pinterest and Instagram are the best platforms for longer media posts. Facebook and Twitter respond much better to a very limited word count. Each post in this particular campaign contained the same underlying aim. The posts both honoured the late Angela Lansbury and provided a clear call to action, which was to follow the link to the tribute podcast.
